Board Development Committee

Nominates future board members. This committee evaluates the board's composition, identifies needs, and compiles a list of people who fit those needs and who can assist in the achievement of the organization's strategic plan. The Chair of the Board Development Committee should have a broad knowledge of the community to reach out to appropriate people to fill board positions. The Board Development Committee, also called the Governance Committee or Governance and Leadership Committee, is also responsible for engaging, educating, and evaluating board members.
