Sustainable energy - is the provision of energy such that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_energy Sustainable energy comes from sources such as biofuels, solar power, wind power, wave power, http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/geothermal geothermal power and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_power tidal power. Some of the sources can cause http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pollution pollution, but as long as it is kept to a minimum, there is no need for concern. Biomass is also used as a sustainable energy source. Some of the biomass used include http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/herbaceous herbaceous, woody energy crops, agricultural food and feed shops.

There are two key components are energy efficiency and renewable energy. This is because both of these have to be present in order to reduce and stabilize the emissions of http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/carbon+dioxide carbon dioxide. There is a focus on the ability of an energy source to provide energy and keep providing it. In the UK, there are rewards and promotes local sustainable energy. These are known as the Ashden Awards. The purpose of these awards is to promote awareness to the huge potential that local sustainable energy has. It is also used to tackle climate changes and improve the quality of life for people in the world.

Both uranium and thorium have to be mined, so the operator has to be sure to dispose of the waste properly to keep accidents from happening.

In order for renewable resources to be considered sustainable, they have to have the potential to last in to the future. If you look at solar power and wind power, these would be considered sustainable because energy can be produced with the risk of depletion. Sustainable energy would mean that the energy going into the source would be as great as the energy coming from the source.

If we are relying on sustainable energy then there should be no dependency from outside sources. If we are using a resource, but yet we still have to rely on someone else, then that resource is not considered sustainable. If it were, we would be able to rely on that resource alone. Using the renewable resources we have, putting in the effort to keep them going would help with sustainable energy.

If we made it to where we were only relying on what we had instead of what we get from other place, sustainable energy would last for many years. It would be energy freedom.
