Trees – A Valuable Renewable Resource
Renewable resource – any natural resource that can replenish itself naturally over time, as wood or solar energy; also called renewable energy, – http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/renewable+resource
Trees in general are a main renewable source. It is important that trees are maintained. They can be replenished in a reasonable amount of time. They are our breathing partners. They take in carbon dioxideand release oxygen, which helps clean the air. They reduced the amount of waste that goes into landfills.

There have been studies such as scientific and preliminary, which state forest residue, can be an economically valuable energy source. Wood residue from trees can be burned in steam boilers. That steam can be used to drive electrical generators. Let’s take a closer look at bamboo. It is a renewable resource for agro forestry production. It is one of the fastest growing trees on the planet. It acts as a critical element in balancing oxygen and carbon dioxide. It also helps against global warming, because it will reintroduce oxygen into the air. It also grows without the use of petroleum.

A great thing about this renewable resource is that it is self generating and can be harvested every 3 to 5 years. It is cellulose based and is < a href=http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/biodegradable>biodegradable with soil, sunshine and air exposure. Bamboo protects against ltraviolet rays and it purifies soil. It has also been used to asthma and coughs in ancient medicine. An interesting fact is that Thomas Edison used at carbonized bamboo filament in his first experiment with the light bulb.

Trees are considered a valuable renewable resource because they can always grow back. The main thing to remember is that if we cut down a tree, we should plant one to replace it. Trees also have the ability to provide shade during hot summer months. This could prove to be an energy efficient source at your home.

There are many renewable resources available to us today. We should be putting these to use. Part of the problem may be that we don’t know the full potential these resources have. Even though they are renewable, we have to make sure that we do our part in preserving them. We should not take them for granted. The renewable resources we have available to us could provide us with what we need for years to come, but just like anything else, if we don’t take care of it, they will diminish.

Taking care of our trees along with all of our renewable resources, we can ensure that they are here for generations to come.
